Practical Inexpensive Uses for ICE - The List Grows

ICE4SAFETY Tools have many applications that lend themselves to providing increased levels of safety and preparedness. We occasionally get calls asking how to better use ICE. Here you go...

This homeowner has had some medical issues in the past and a few ambulance rides too so they decided to alert the paramedics just in case it happens again. To enhance the likelihood of ICE being recognized - another sticker (2"x 2" you would get with your free ICE Kit) was affixed to the main entrance - just in case (back up) it is obstructed at the mailbox during inclement weather. Make this a part of your overall effort to use ICE.

Once inside, First Responders would see the ICE Cards and Medical Info Forms in the patient wallet or purse or stuck the refrigerator with the supplied card holder and programmed information on their cell phone or their Smartphone - using smart-ICETM

Building in redundancy to your safety preparedness effort will increase the likelihood of success over any of these one shot wonder gimmicks we see flooding the market. We get a lot of people copying our ideas from here......

If your ambulance, police or fire department is running an ICE Program for the community be sure to get these ICE Stickers (2x2") to alert EMS as well.......they have plenty of other emergency uses .....and the name of any sponsor or their website address can be placed on one line at the bottom without detracting from the visual alert effect it was designed for.

One sponsor indicates his business gets plenty of hits for business as a result of sponsoring ICE in community giveaway programs. ICE just keeps getting better and better......

Fargo North Dakota Works Together - 3-09

This week's flooding of the Red River in North Dakota illustrates the effectiveness of planning and emergency response to incidents.

Here volunteers and National Guard Troops coordinate efforts to fill sand bags at the Fargo, North Dakota Dome to be placed out in the freezing cold blizzard conditions in the hopes of preventing even more damage to homes destroyed by the ice dam causing massive flooding.

This is a lesson to us all that you can be impacted by these events at times when you would least expect them. Time to take stock of our community and the kinds of disasters that could conceivably occur and consider what our response might be. We may not have many options in certain circumstances but to evacuate and hope you live in a community that still cares enough to work together for the common good.

Social Service Agencies? Schools? Community Centers?

Summer time usually means social service agencies and community centers will be offering summer programs for kids or senior outings.

Supporters or businesses that work directly with these organizations can have a positive impact by sponsoring ICE education sessions or ICE Card printings and distributions.

Soon to come out on the website will be an easily produced card that can incorporate a cardholder photo, Name, DOB and 3 emergency contacts - point and click. Avery has a freeware card program where you can design your own, and we are constructing one in Adobe PDF to make the photo upload simple.....or you can do this yourself if you want.....

All you would need is a simple digital camera, a laptop or existing desktop computer (who does not have one yet?) color printer and business card stock. Give each child (or senior) a full page of cards (10) so they fill them out by hand and change contacts as needed or leave extra cards in backpacks, wallets, bicycles, wheelchairs so they are never without.....You can also print up some stickers....looks like we may have to store some here so smaller quantities can be sent out at cost.....

Now if you are a business and are picking up the (rather inexpensive) tab for this special event, there is no reason why your company logo or name cannot find a spot on the card or brochures passed out as being the sponsor...
